CD’s will remain at Oshkosh Community Credit Union Director’s Report The buzz online about removing trail signs was about 1 sign with 1 landowner. The issue is being handled favorably. Off-road council met and even Dave was not asked to remain snowmobiling still has good representation. There were 350 mi of new trail approved. They went down to #7 on their checklist to use up funds. So, keep track of the work done to submitted sections as status is effective this year (i.e. C2 & C11). New Group – Deer Hunting Stake Group – will cover concerns & conflicts between numerous user groups (Snowmobile, agriculture, CWD, etc.) Reminder that clubs should at least be incorporated if not 501C. Watch gross profit as there – $25,000. Clubs that allow ATV and/or UTV use there is an additional $200/mi. available for grooming. Treasurer Note: Happy that the AWSC made $2,100 in calendar sales beating MI again. Blue Mound Issue- Finial draft due in Nov. so watch for comment notice. Due to COVID-12 there won’t be in person public meetings so we need a good online response. Update from Stormy: Renewal numbers almost halfway thru last year’s registrations ahead of last year’s timeline. About 8-9 of 10 calls are about registration lapse. Locally some clubs have seen a lot of unregistered sleds on the trails. Trail passes so far: 64,733 $10 passes, 81,551 $30 passes, 22,295 Non-resident passes. Also there are 603 clubs in the state. Headlight Barrier Bill – working on final wording with the state and adding a dim headlight clause. GPS tracking mandatory for 2021 grooming season – not required for trail prep. The $250/unit is fundable. There will be a 6 hr delay in reporting. New Exec. Director – Mike Holden, it was a close race. Other stats: #1 complaint is Trespassing, 1,700 magazines returned so update your address, see snowmoblieinfo.org for ACSA Facts & Myths about Snowmobiling publication, very few Club minutes sent in. Due date to return groomer contracts not fully defined, but the normal due date is the end of October. Mike suggested waiting until the checks are received from the county. The contracts can be scanned in and the contracts emailed. Email addresses should be in the contract. County Did not go to supplemental funding this year but spent nearly all of the regular funds. There was some discussion about the rates paid for various types of groomers and tractors Top dollar is paid for a 9’6” wide groomer and a tractor of at least 125 hp and with full tracks. Tracks are paid extra over tires Snowmobile Recreation Council meets this week to decide on new funded miles. AWSC convention was cancelled in Appleton On Sunday directors and reps can attend. Will draw for the raffle drawing Executive actions will be deferred due to minimal attendance with the conventioncancellation. Trail Pass system is having connection issues, the AWSC thinks it is on their end. Jason mentioned he has had better luck with Google Chrome Trail and Grooming Report There is 137.5 miles of funded trail in Winnebago County C2 trail is now funded. Will discuss how to move forward. Paul Olson called to find out what is going on. Club would rather keep this low key. A big meeting with finger pointing could go the wrong way. The alliance is behind the Winneconne club. We can get people from other clubs to attend. When is the 10% drawing taken from? Jason thought it was from July 1st. They are measuring the 2019 and 2020 season. Jim Kumbier mentioned that he would have liked to have seen the trails stay open until Sunday morning. All admit that is a tough call. Jim said in the past years he wished he would have left trails open. New businessTemperature There was discussion that the trails should not have been opened on the first weekend. Jason asked Should we ever consider temperature as a factor to open or close the trail? Trail closing last weekend If we would have gotten snow this week then it would have been ok to leave them open. There was mixed opinions on whether the trails should have stayed open but all agree this was a tough decision. Nominations for County director and rep. Mike Giese and Mark Bombinski accepted nominations for their current positions. Mike asked if we could make county director a two-year term. It was mentioned that the AWSC by laws may not allow a two-year term. It was decided to leave these as one year terms. Jim Kumbier made a motion to cast a unanimous ballot. Marice Concklin seconded the motion. Motion passed. Officer elections Jason nominated Jeff Miller for Vice President. Jeff accepted. Jeff Miller nominated Jason Ollanketo for President.
