October 2019 Alliance Meeting Minutes 

The November 26^th , 2019  meeting was called to order by President Jason Ollanketo at 7:32 PM at REV’s Bowl Bar and Grill.  The minutes were read by Jeff Miller.  Minutes were accepted. 

Clubs in attendance were:
Springbrook, Wolff’s Pack, Sno-Pioneers, Drifters, Waukau Driftskippers, Sno Scats, Omro Drift Busters, Poygainaire’s, Winneconne Wolfrunners

Treasurer’s Report

The Treasurer’s report was read by Treasurer Lisa Breu and accepted with the following ending balances. 

Motion was made Debbie Beyer and seconded by Paul Villwock.  Treasurer’s Report was accepted.

Director’s Report 
Highlights from the Fall Workshop in Appleton.
The next time the workshop will be in Appleton is 2021.

• Gillian Steffens – 16,000 more trail passes than year before.
  • 2 million set aside for storm damage.
  • 30 new bridges, 600 miles of new trails were funded
• April Dombrowski – Focus this year will be on off trail riding, sound, alcohol violations
• President Dave Neuman – Was asking for ideas for future workshops.
• Executive Director Sam Landis – Thanked everyone for showing up to snowmobile related meetings.  We have the numbers to make a difference.
• 4.2million went into the snowmobile program due to extra trail passes sold.
• Wolf River bridge group filed a lawsuit again and we will most likely have to do this all over again.
• Public Relations – Paula Gilbrecki talked about relationships with towns. 
  • Use Local media, on air personalities.  Get to know your county government and your government officials.  Know your plow people.  Try to work with them. 
  • For our county Let Mike know if you have an issue with plowing, for example if they are not winging up at road crossings.
• Legislation – A Law was passed years ago where you could only have so much money in our trail segregation fund.  Nygren and Luther Olson have introduced a bill to raise the ceiling.
  • 40 ft rule only applies to state numbered highways.  Legislation is being sponsored to get rid of it down to 10 feet or less if needed.
  • Another bill out there.  Kwik Trip is asking for anything up to E15 to be on one hose.  Nobody has sponsored it.  We want separate hoses for E10 and E15.
• Magazine – Do you use the commercial sponsor pull out.  It costs a lot of money and the AWSC is looking for ways to reduce costs.  In the future the magazine may just be online in the future.
• All memberships expire July 1^st 020 12:01am.  Memberships sent after April 1^st will be held until July.
• As of Sept 30, 2019 – there were 36, 662 members, and 1188 commercial members.
• Rothschild will host the workshop in 2022.
• 533 attendees attended the Fall Workshop

Trail and Grooming Report 
Fields are awfully wet out there

Club Trail signs were handed out.

Groomer contracts – Mike handed out corrected groomer contracts.  There are two contracts.  Sign and return the last 2 pages on each contract.

ATV Routes – No ATV route on county roads with greater than 1000 cars a day.  To designate an ATV route a plan needs to be submitted to the highway department and township.  Jason showed the group what the no ATV sign looks like.

Wolf’s Pack was gifted a fuel tank.  Does anyone need a 275 gallon fuel oil tank?  Contact Mike Geise.

Old Business  

• Map Committee Update
  • Map ad sales.  No payment from Ecklund or Team Winnebagoland.
  • Proof review – Map proof arrived tonight.  Jason hasn’t reviewed yet.  Please look at your adds and make sure they are correct.
  • Goal is to print on the first week of December.

Village of Winneconne 

• Snowmobile fence around basketball court.
• Fence was added in various areas in the village.  North 9^th.
• Layed down all available snow belting.  Turning and accelerating areas covered.
• Belting not secured.  Hopefully it will freeze down.  Connected pieces lengthwise.
• Belting donated, stakes donated.  Should be ok financially for now..

New Business

• Revs came in last month and didn’t know we had the room reserved.  Rev’s wants $25.00 per night (26.25).  We reserved the room for this month and next month.
  • The Bar is available January thru April.  They will not charge us.
  • Other alternative Locations suggested were:
    • Westward Ho
    • Tanners in Omro 
    • Fin and Feather
• Eureka Grooming – Mike and Jason may go to the meeting on Monday.  Heard from Berlin they bought a drag, possibly a tractor.  Rob Way has not heard anything from them.  They need a contract, insurance, etc.
• Website: Last year motion passed to spend $100.00 to change website.  Now require $150.00 monthly service.
  • Jason has asked for a motion to spend $300.00.  Jason would like to fix the website after Thanksgiving.  Jason needs to fix the dealer map ads because now we provide a website add with the map add.  Will fix the Wolf’s Pack and the WCSA website with the same access.
  • Motion: Debbie Beyer – Motion to spend $300.00 max to fix the website.  
  • Second: Scott Hall
  • Motion passed unanimous by voice vote.

• UR here maps were discussed.  Basically it is our map on a sign.  24”x24”.  $69.00 per sign in multiples of 8, on a 4×8 sheet.   3/16 aluminum.   Decals only would be $30.00 each for ten or more.  $40.00 each for single decals.
  • Discussed that maybe alliance buys one for each club.
  • Locations discussed included one by the lake, intersection 5, and the Wiowash.  There are 3 clubs that converge at the Wiowash.
  • Will table until December.
  • Should also be at the county borders.
